Chilly reception for costly wind experiment

The Plain Dealer, cleveland.com 17 January 2011

Have the advocates of wind turbines in this area turned a blind eye to reality? Have they disregarded turbines’ undependability in freezing weather? Have they not read about the frozen turbines in Minnesota, the barely turning blades on the Zuider Zee and the freeze-up in heavily wind-turbine-dependent Scotland that has caused that country to turn to France for nuclear-generated electricity this winter?

Instead, the advocates plan to waste money on five expensive, “experimental” navigational hazards. Will somebody please tell them to wake up? These “experiments” have been done elsewhere.
