Wind power costs to be passed on

The Windsor Star, www.windsorstar.com 10 January 2011

Re: Wind power is healthy, guest column by Gideon Forman, Jan. 6.

The part about windmills that will really hurt people is the economical one.

Where do you think the government will take the money to pay the 58 cents it gives to the windmill owners for each kilowatt?

From the eight cents or so that it sells the electricity, even lessif itsellsittotheU. S.?

So, to make a comparison that the locals will understand, let’s use cars.

It costs your company $50,000 to $80,000, use the latter number for solar panels, to make a nice guzzler and you sell it for $8,000.

Who pays the difference? Someone has to pay it.

Joe Public does, for each and every one of these windmills or solar panels. No politician will mention it because it’s in-defendable.

We encourage some big company financially to come here, build these inefficient money grabbers, in order to get a couple hundred jobs – or so they promise.

Then again, politicians’ promises, what could be more solid than that?

Maybe the air that makes the windmills turn at taxpayers’ expense.

Expect more and more fees added to your electrical bill. And don’t forget that every time a windmill turns, thanks to our current crop of politicians, it’s going to cost you, not them.

The money has to come from somewhere. That somewhere is your pocket.

The economic damage from windmills and solar panels will hurt more than the alleged medical damage.

Yet, nobody talks about it in the news.

It makes one wonder about the glowing point of views of the interested parties. Interested being the key word here.
