Windmill vandalism reported in Bonneville County

IDAHO FALLS – The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vandalism report of a windmill.
BP Wind Energy reported that a windmill had been shot at twice.
The bullets hit the top of the windmill causing damage inside the housing.
The bullets damaged hoses, wiring, and other equipment with a damage cost of $5,000. This type of vandalism is a felony.
A witness spotted the damage on December 22.
The windmill was on the southeast side of Bone Road and about a mile east of Lincoln Road.
