RIVERTON TWP. – The Riverton Township Board of Trustees heard from residents again Monday about Consumers Energy’s planned wind turbine project.
Though some audience members requested the board pass a resolution requesting the Mason County Board of Commissioners place a moratorium on the proposed Consumers Energy New Generation wind turbine project, the township board took no action.
One of the reasons the board took no action was because three of its five members have entered into property easement agreements with Consumers, allowing the company to use their land for the project. Those members are Supervisor Kathleen Andersen, Treasurer Katherine Schade and Trustee Ron Lundberg.
