Wind flap & zoning issues keep Wellfleet on its toes in 2010

Selectmen axed the plan for a 400-foot turbine near White Crest Beach at the end of March, acting after a small group of concerned citizens convinced them it would be folly to pursue the project. Now, with a similar turbine in operation in Falmouth, and creating problems there, locals are pleased that Wellfleet abandoned the proposal. The town turned more toward exploring solar power, and installed solar panels on the new fire station.
