Twelve bids for small wind farms have been accepted by Hydro-Quebec Distribution, the utility said yesterday. Among them is one aboriginal community project, a venture promoted by Kahnawake Sustainable Energies to be located in the South Shore village of Ct. Cyprien de Napierville. The bids total just over 291 megawatts of wind-energy. Deliveries of electricity must start between Dec. 1, 2013 and Dec. 1, 2015. The average price of the accepted bids is 13.3 cents per kilowatt/hour including 2.0 ยข/kWh to transmit the electricity generated. Once finalized, the contracts are to be submitted to the Regie de l’energie for its approval.
