Not listening to the majority

The Observer, www.lagrandeobserver.com 1 December 2010

Mark Davidson isn’t listening. The meeting held Nov. 10 by our Union County commissioners for the public’s input on the final SIP was a real fiasco!

Mr. Davidson explained the final SIP to the crowd and it was obvious it was meant to please Horizon and their followers with no regard to 52 percent of the people in Union County who voted against the wind farm.

He meant to have the agreement signed that evening against the wishes of the Friends of Grande Ronde Valley present at the meeting. When Commissioner Hibbert stated she had not had time to thoroughly go over the SIP and wanted to grant FGRV the 30-day extension we requested, Commissioner McClure backed her up. Thank you, commissioners.

Questions I have are: Why was Bill Rosholt part of the negotiating team when we have two paid commissioners who should have been part of it and weren’t? Why hasn’t the public heard what is being done regarding the deleting of e-mails between Hanley Jenkins and Horizon that were deleted by Mr. Jenkins? The public hasn’t forgotten!

Go online to www.fgrv.org or call 541-568-4585 and learn about the great giveaway of our stimulus dollars by Mr. Davidson by reducing Horizon’s tax to do business here. Why would he do this when 52 percent of the voters have told him we don’t want this type of industry in our county?

It is urgent your voice be heard by Dec. 15. Call or write the commissioners. They need to hear from all of us.
