David Watt’s letter (October 28) drew attention to E.ON’s lack of publicity for public exhibitions of its proposed 420ft wind turbines on Legerwood and Corsbie.
Despite this poor publicity, more than 200 adults attended the exhibitions in Earlston and Lauder.
Volunteers from the community carried out an exit poll asking people for their opinions on the proposed development. Your readers may be interested to know that, of those from the Borders, 11 per cent were in favour, 12 per cent were undecided and 77 per cent were against.
I feel that this should be a very clear message from our community to our local and national politicians who are so enthusiastically and uncritically promoting these developments.
