Revised plan for huge windfarm at Moy to go on show to the public

A windfarm developer is to hold a second public exhibition of its plans for turbines in countryside south of Inverness.

The £200million plans being proposed by Carbon Free Ltd would see 55 turbines built at Moy.

The developers held their first exhibition in June, but a public event next month will feature revised plans, which take account of feedback received during their consultations with the public this year.

The events will take place at the Highland Hospice, Inverness, on Thursday, December 9, from noon to 8pm; at Strathdearn Hall, Tomatin, on Friday December 10, from noon to 8pm; and at Daviot Village Hall, Daviot, on Saturday December 11, from 9am to 2pm.

Carbon Free director Dominic Farrugia said: “We are very grateful to those who have already taken the time to comment on our plans, and we look forward to meeting more members of the public and hearing further views at these events in December.

“Even if you have commented already, please come along, see how the development has changed in response to public suggestions and environmental investigations, and take the opportunity to ask us further questions.”

Anyone who cannot attend the exhibitions will be able to view and comment on the plans online.

They will be available at www.moywindfarm. co.uk/index.html from December 9.

The public have until January 31, 2011, to submit their comments to Carbon Free.
