Community leaders in Golden, Illinois say they don’t want wind turbines in their village.
The Golden Village Board approved an ordinance Wednesday night that temporarily prohibits the construction of wind farms in Golden and within one and a half miles surrounding the village corporate limits.
There will be a public hearing November 29th.
Trustee Rick Walker says ” The public hearing will be conducted at the Golden Community Building and comments will be taken from the public from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. After the Public hearing a following up meeting will be scheduled to decide whether to permanently ban the construction of the wind turbines and electric generating devices.”
