Wind-power facts

The Scotsman, scotsman.com 9 November 2010

I must, after months of corresponding on the issue to these columns, admit to a severe sense of frustration at the letter (8 November) from C Jenkins of Cardigan.
The data required on electricity production per fuel type is already available at the Neta website, http://bmreports.com/bwx_reporting.htm, or www.bmreports.com/bsp/bsp.home.htm.

The table on generation by fuel type gives 24-hour summaries, current production and production in the last half-hour, for all main generation processes.

I cannot give any comfort to C Jenkins as, even though the data presented clearly shows the near-uselessness of wind turbine production, most politicians, so-called green non-governmental organisations and conservation agencies just ignore the facts in their determination to ensure that landowners and developers continue to accrue millions of public subsidy and high-tariff consumer payments while the rest of us suffer under recession.
