Wind farm plan for nine turbines

A planning application for a wind farm on the site of a former mine is expected to be submitted by the end of the month.
The application, for nine, rather than the original 10, 125m (410ft) turbines, on the site of Asfordby pit will be submitted to Melton Borough Council.
About 250 people attended public exhibitions held in Asfordby and Ab Kettleby. Submitting the plan is Peel Energy.
A spokesman for protest group Stop said: “Many residents are angry that their concerns remain unanswered, particularly regarding the visual nature of the enormous turbines and likely noise.”
