Man suffers serious burns in Wrexham fire

A man suffered serious burns following a fire at a house yesterday.
Firefighters and an ambulance crew raced to Cunningham Avenue, Wrexham at around 6.30pm after the fire broke out in the lounge.
The man was rescued by crews and treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with serious burns.
Police said they were investigating the blaze with the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
A second fire started at a property on nearby Trevenna Way around an hour later. One man was again rescued by firefighters and checked at the scene by paramedics. He declined hospital treatment.
This fire will also be investigated by police and fire officers. It was not known last night if the fires were connected.
Fire crews from three Wrexham appliances spent more than two hours fighting the first blaze, which caused severe fire damage to the living room and smoke damage to the rest of the property.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 6.28pm. A patient with serious burns was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
“An ambulance also attended a second property on Trevenna Way at 7.47pm after a fire was reported.”
Fire crews were called to a wind turbine blaze at Tir Mostyn/Foel Goch windfarm near Nantglyn, Denbighshire. The fire started in one of the 25 turbines at the site near Llyn Brenig. A fire crew from Denbigh were on standby at the site for around two hours.
