WPCS International Inc. said Thursday it has been awarded a contract from the Meskwaki Nation to help determine the feasibility of a wind farm on the nation’s land.
The Exton, Pa., company will install meteorological towers on the land, which consists of 7,000 acres in two Iowa counties, to see if putting wind turbines there makes sense.
WPCS (NASDAQ:WPCS), which didn’t reveal the value of the contract, will furnish, install and maintain the towers, as well as collect data from them and issue wind-assessment and wind-analysis reports.
The Meskwaki Nation received a grant from the Department of Energy to help fund construction of the towers.
WPCS designs and builds communications and electrical infrastructure.
