NASA Plum Brook gets few comments on proposed wind farm

About 50 people showed up for a public meeting at Sandusky High School Tuesday evening to discuss a proposed wind farm at NASA Plum Brook.

The group asked a few questions, but offered few comments.

The collection of wind turbines could provide renewable energy for the space agency and help it meet a federal mandate.

NASA envisions a $100 million wind farm consisting of 20 to 30 wind turbines that could generate 2.5 megawatts of electricity apiece when the wind blows, or a total of up to 70 megawatts – enough electricity for 20,000 households.
