A newly created citizens group and the Sault Ste. Marie MP Tony Martin will host a forum Sept. 16 to put the spotlight on proposed wind development projects in Algoma District.
“It would seem that many residents are not yet aware of the industrial wind projects proposed for Algoma, and that they, the residents, have opportunities to provide feedback to the government,” said Joanie McGuffin of Save Our Algoma Region, in a press conference at Martin’s office Friday.
SOAR formed in the last month in response to what McGuffin called rapid progress on projects that threaten to blight the landscape and cause yet unknown “economic, environmental and social impacts,” all seemingly behind the scenes.
