RWE npower renewables will be unveiling plans for their wind farm of up to 34 turbines north of Kincraig later this week.

Members of the public are invited to view details of the proposed Allt Duine wind farm which is located around 8km north-east of Kingussie and 9km west of Aviemore. The exhibition will take place at Kincraig Community Hall on Friday from 2pm-8pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm.

The firm said they will provide information on the proposals and feature computer generated images of how the proposed wind farm could look. RWE npower renewables staff will also be available to answer queries that the public may have.

Jenny Gascoigne, spokeswoman for RWE npower renewables said: “We will be presenting the most up-to-date information about the site, which could comprise up to 34 turbines.

“At this stage environmental studies are on-going and data is still to be analysed therefore there may be further amendments to the layout.”

She said the first round of consultations by the firm saw over 2,500 newsletters and questionnaires sent to homes within a 10km radius of the site.

And she said a further newsletter will be delivered following the submission of the application later this year.

Ms Gascoigne continued: “We believe it is important to ensure everyone living near to our proposed sites has as much information as possible to inform their opinions. We hope to see as many local residents as possible at the exhibition.

“A questionnaire will be provided at the exhibition and we welcome feedback and comments from those living in the area.”
