So, Yet another inefficient windfarm is proposed for Lincolnshire, and if built, the costs of grid modification will be paid for by the consumer, making electricity even more expensive.
The gigantic concrete bases will be left in the ground after 25 years when decommissioned, and if on a flood plain will continue to compromise ground absorption and filtration. Denmark, forerunner in wind turbine installation, has found them useless, and couldn’t use the energy they provided, having to export it.Large consumers like hospitals and industry will be forced to guarantee their electricity supply by buying on the futures markets at inflated prices. Are they really of any benefit, I ask?
So if the consumer does not benefit, who does?
Some would say the environment, the landowners, venture capitalists and the City of London markets.
Lastly, the Treasury will benefit, having provided subsidies from people’s taxes to the developers in the first place.
