The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal starts hearings today into a proposed wind farm near the Great Ocean Road at Newfield.
Acciona Energy wants to build 15 turbines at the site, but in January, the Corangamite Council refused to approve the $50 million project.
The council says the wind farm would be visible from the Great Ocean Road and more than 60 properties would be impacted by noise and sunlight reflecting from the blades.
Acciona Energy says the development should be allowed to go ahead because it meets the planning requirements at federal, state and local levels.
Victoria’s planning tribunal has also received a number of submissions from people who were opposed to the wind farm.
