Iberdrola cleared to build wind farm in Hódmezvásárhely, Hungary

The municipality of Hódmez?vásárhely has given the green light to the wind energy park to be built by the Hungarian company of Spain’s Iberdrola S.A.

The nearly €30 million investment can be realized by 2012 following the licensing procedures. The Hungarian subsidiary of Iberdrola will set up 14 one-hundred-meter wind towers, each delivering 2 megawatts of power, over a 100 hectare area.

The units cost around €2 million each. The tenth larges energy provider has already started construction outside Ikervár in Vas county, building a complex of 13 towers producing a total of 27 megawatts on 200 hectares. Iberdrola has announced earlier it is investing €225 million into energy production in Hungary with the total output of 158 megawatts in the following years. (Napi Gazdaság)
