We don’t want windfarms in Caldercruix

I am writing to add my voice to what I suspect is growing opinion against the proposed windfarm – the windfarm that I believe should be stopped and I accept there is not planning permission for.

Is the windfarm proposed for Caldercruix?

Caldercruix in my opinion is one of the most scenic areas in Lanarkshire.

It has the beautiful Hillend Reservoir (at one time the largest man-made reservoir in Europe), and the surrounding hillsides.

We do not want to be used as a dumping ground for the unpopular and unwanted windfarms.

I hope that your newspaper will take up this issue.

These would not be dumped on the people of Bearsden or Milngavie, as the many professional people staying there would be able to stop them.

We, unfortunately, are not surrounded by people like that.

We already have our view of the Campsies spoiled by two huge turbines in Longriggend (and no-one knows their purpose).

Please help if you can.

Mr James Lafferty, 21 Drumfin Avenue, Caldercruix.
