Treasure Coast Surfrider has created a Web site to better inform its members and the public of beach- and waterway-related issues.
TC Surfrider, the Martin and St. Lucie County Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, is a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.
Although TC Surfrider has its hands involved in numerous matters, by visiting www.tcsurfrider.org, its evident the group’s biggest fight is against Florida Power & Light’s proposed wind turbine project at Walton Rocks Beach.
The new Web site allows anyone who opposes FPL’s wind turbine project to sign a petition, which is then sent to the St. Lucie County commissioners, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Environmental Protection and Gov. Charlie Crist.
TC Surfrider’s Web site also includes a track record of its accomplishments, photo galleries, meeting information, surf reports and much more.
