The Government is far from reaching its goal of developing wind power plants producing 3 TerraWatts by 2010. The political opposition is critical.
So far, wind power facilities with a total capacity of only a little more than 1.1 TW have been developed, and further developments are far from being realized, the newspaper Klassekampen writes.
Poor financial support from the state and a lengthy processing of the application for the lisence is blamed for the slow development of wind power in Norway.
