I would like to bring people’s attention to the forthcoming public inquiry into the proposed extension to the wind farm site known as Blaen Bowi, near Newcastle Emlyn.

As some of you may be aware, an appeal has been lodged to the Assembly by the developers of the site, Windjen.

This is in direct response to the decision by Carmarthenshire Council to refuse the proposed extension from three turbines to six.

The council planning committee refused the application in October last year because the extension would contravene various clauses and conditions within the council and governmental planning restrictions and guidelines.

As a result of this appeal, the Assembly has called for a full public enquiry which will be held some time in September of this year.

Due to the nature of this inquiry, Carmarthenshire Council is urging interested parties to submit their written objections on or before July 1.

We, the Blaen Bowi Action Group, are urging all who are or may be affected by these monstrous carbuncles to write to the David Poulter, planning officer for Carmarthenshire Council, expressing their objections.

This is not just reserved for the people who live close to them, but must include all people who feel that they cause a detriment to the landscape and/or affect them in some way.

Now more than ever Wales needs you to stand up to the big boys who are hell-bent on destroying God’s own country, your country.

For information please go to www.welshwindfarms.org.uk or contact the planning department at Carmarthenshire Council.
