Denbighshire windfarm plans scrapped due to increased demand

Denbighshire County Council has scrapped its windfarm blueprint in light of increased demands for renewable energy from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The local authority last week voted to abolish the existing Interim Planning Guidance document, which it says is irrelevant due to increased targets for wind power.

All guidance will now come from Technical Advice Note 8, a document on sustainable power published by the Welsh Assembly Government, as a temporary measure.

This could mean increases in the number of wind projects givent he go-ahead in the county.
