Amendments to the Western Lands Act and Crowns Lands Act have been passed in Parliament, enabling parallel leases to exist on land required for critical infrastructure such as wind farms.
A spokesman for the graziers, Nigel Lawrence, said earlier this month, the legislation was headed in the right direction, but had some bugs that needed working out.
Last week, a review to the Western Lands Act recommended changes be made and tabled in State Parliament, the changes were passed unanimously in both houses.
Minister for Lands Tony Kelly says the graziers will now be able to retain their connection to the land, and the new laws mean greater security for investment in renewable energy.
Mr Lawrence was unavailable for comment yesterday.
