Bureau to hold public meetings on proposed wind project

The Bureau of Land management is holding three public meetings to share information about a proposed wind power project in the Jarbidge Foothills in southern Idaho and northern Nevada.

The proposed project includes 30,700 acres of state, federal and private lands southwest of Rogerson and Twin Falls County and west of Jackpot in Elko County, Nevada.

China Mountain Wind, LLC proposes to develop an approximately 425 megawatt (MW) wind energy facility consisting of up to 185 wind turbines.
