Turbine could be dangerous

I note from this newspaper (June 16) that Tesco is proposing to put three wind turbines at its store in Llansamlet.

Fairly recently, a wind turbine self-destructed in Denmark, due to high winds, and showered metal shrapnel for almost half a mile.

Yet, Tesco wants to put these potentially dangerous machines in an area which will often be densely populated with customers.

As a consulting electrical engineer, I have always worked on the principle if it can happen it will happen.

This could be an accident waiting to happen if the above project goes ahead.

Tesco makes enough money from its normal business.

It doesn’t need to get free electricity at the expense of us, the electricity consumers, via our electricity bills, due to the unjust Renewable Obligation Certificate system.
