Speakers to discuss turbine projects

A forum this week will examine both sides of wind turbine projects on the western rim of the Shenandoah Valley near the West Virginia border.

The Woodstock forum on Tuesday will feature speakers who will share their views on the proposals, which would see wind turbines rise on national forest land.

The Shenandoah Forum, a citizens group, says the opposing sides will be represented by the Southern Environmental Law Center and Freedom Works. The latter group is seeking a federal study on the impact of installing 130 wind turbines in Rockingham and Shenandoah counties.
