An unspoilt tranquil setting no more!

BWAG’s campaign against the proposed inappropriate siting of eight massive wind turbines has gained substantial momentum.

The Action Group has wide support with Sir Peter Tapsell MP along with Edward Leigh MP adopting the status of patron and vice patron respectively.

BWAG has grave concerns with its proposed location so close to the gateway to the Wolds, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This unique part of Lincolnshire’s character, affording views of up to 20 miles, will be dominated and degraded by this industrial development.

This precious area is being promoted as an unspoiled tranquil setting, ideal for relaxing country holidays, encouraging visitors to the historic market town of Horncastle only four kilometres away.

We also wish to highlight the following serious concerns:

1. Its close proximity to the residents of Wispington, Baumber and Minting.

2. Potential health risks – low amplitude noise, vibration and shadow flicker.

3. Negative impact on the rural economy while providing no perceivable long term economic gain to the area.

4. Road safety issues – the site is close to the A158 coastal route, clearway and red route.

6. Negative impact on property prices – especially those in Wispington and those bordering the site.
We wish to make it quite clear we are not against renewable energy.

The Offshore wind farms are far more efficient and land based wind farms need be located, where there is little or no impact to the local environment.
