Last chance for say on farm

Comments on a wind farm application must be submitted by tomorrow.

The plans for seven, 360ft wind turbines at Bearstone, near Woore, have been the subject of a consultation exercise lasting three weeks.

Nuon Renewables says the Poplar Lane site will be a “21st century symbol of people’s commitment to renewable energy”.

Opponents fear it will dominate the landscape, and affect both wildlife and communities.

Loggerheads Parish Council has objected to the scheme.

Nuon says it feels the proposal is “of a scale appropriate to the setting and the contemporary rural economy.”

Comments should go to the planning department at North Shropshire District Council, Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem.
