More than 1,200 people have had their say on controversial plans to site a wind farm in the Shropshire countryside. The deadline for comments is 5pm tomorrow.
Developers want to build a seven-turbine wind farm at Norton-in-Hales.
The district council began consulting last month on the application for seven wind turbines in Poplar Road.
Councillor John Beckett, portfolio holder for the built environment, urged people to submit their comments.
He said: “Time is running out to have your say on the proposed wind farm and I would encourage any resident within the Dorrington area to tell us their thoughts on this application.
“The council has received a considerable number of comments so far and it is crucial that we hear all suggestions to ensure a balanced decision is made.”
Paper copies of the application are available during office hours at the council’s offices at Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem; from Ne- wcastle Under Lyme Borou- gh Council at Civic Offices, Merrial Street, Newcastle; and Woore Parish Council.
The application and all supporting documents can also be viewed on the council’s website at www.north shropshiredc.gov.uk
Councillor Beckett said: “North Shropshire District Council aims to provide equ- ality of access and opportunity to all our residents, so if you do not have access to the internet at home, you can access the application at any of the Customer First points across the district, including Market Drayton Swimming Centre and the Customer First point at Cheshire Street, Market Drayton.
“Alternatively, you can call the planning team on (01939) 232771.”
