More ‘myths’ on wind farms

Assembly Environment Minister Jane Davidson recently supported Friends of the Earth Cymru’s press release “Wind power: 20 myths blown away”. It included “myths” that wind farms “harm property prices” and “deter tourists”.

During the same week, the UK Local Government Minister John Healey told the Commons that council tax discounts might be given to taxpayers whose property is “affected by the proximity of an electricity generating wind turbine.”

Implicitly this shows wind turbines harm amenity and reduce property value, with an inevitable spin-off for tourist attractiveness.
