The driver of a 130 tonne crane came away uninjured after his crane toppled over on a forestry track last week near Lussa Reservoir.
It took almost four days to remove the crane which was assisting in routine maintenance work at Beinn an Tuirc windfarm and ended up on its side last week.
The cause of the incident is still unknown but a full investigation is being carried out by ScottishPower Renewables. Diggers and lifting equipment were brought in to assist in stabilising the road and remove the crane on Saturday evening.
ScottishPower Renewables are now in talks with the Forestry Commission who own the track regarding long-term repairs.
A spokesman for ScottishPower Renewables said: ‘A wheel-based crane, which was due to assist in routine maintenance at Beinn an Tuirc windfarm, was involved in an incident at approximately 8.30am on Wednesday May 21.
‘The crane was travelling on forest track and on its approach to the windfarm came off the track, resulting in it being turned on its side. There were no injuries and the crane was safely removed on Saturday May 24. The incident is currently being fully investigated.’
