Blow to finances

Perth and Kinross Council’s finances have been blown off course by battling wind farm developments.

Over the last four years, the local authority has spent around £300,000 determining wind farm projects and defending appeals.

A council spokesman told Renewable Energy News that the bill included consultancy and legal fees.

The figure will escalate if the council faces an appeal after dismissing the I. and H. Brown 14-turbine project proposed for Calliacher, near Aberfeldy.
