The controversial issue of wind turbines will be debated at a conference in Norfolk on June 12.
The event, at the Assembly Rooms in Swaffham, is organised jointly by the Norfolk Branch of Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and the Norfolk County Association of Parish and Town Councils (NCAPTC).
The development of wind farms across the region will be a major point of discussion this year and views on the turbines can be divided.
Some see them as beacons of the future renewable energy while others view them as eyesores, damaging the rural landscape of Norfolk.
Speakers include Dr John Constable, director of policy and research at the Renewable Energy Foundation (REF) and Jan Mathieson, head of onshore at the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA).
Other issues that will come under scrutiny at the event include street lighting and light pollution.
The Norfolk Planning Conference will also include talks on the Parish Design Statements – valuable documents which advise how local parishes can promote and preserve the character of local areas, while encouraging the use of natural resources.
