Windfarm guidance goes out to consultation

Consultation on a revised planning guidance that will concentrate large scale wind farms within a limited area of Powys will begin this week.

From Wednesday 21 May, members of the public will have six weeks to comment on the revised ‘Interim Development Control Guidance note (IDCG) – Onshore Wind Farm Developments’. The closing date for consultation will be Friday 4 July.

The revised IDCG is intended to provide guidance and advice on how Powys County Council will deal with planning applications for large, medium and small size wind farm developments.

The document is available from May 21 at the council’s main buildings and libraries. It will also be available at www.powys.gov.uk– click on the Planning icon on the left hand side of the screen then onto Planning Policy.

Comments should be submitted to the county council by Friday 4 July, ideally by email to michael.lloyd@powys.gov.uk followed by a hard copy posted to Michael Lloyd, Powys County Council, Planning Services, Neuadd Maldwyn, Severn Road, Welshpool, SY21 7AS.
