Almost 1,000 people have signed an online petition set up by Normanton woman Mo Caswell calling for safe buffer zones between wind turbines and homes.
A member of campaign group BLOT – Belvoir Locals Oppose Turbines – which has fought plans to build ten turbines in the Vale of Belvoir, Mrs Caswell set up the petition on the Prime Minister’s website at the end of April.
The petition, which had this week been signed by 955 people, calls for the introduction of buffer zones of at least 2km (1.2 miles) between industrial wind turbines and homes.
Because more than 200 people have added their names to it, the Government must provide an official response.
