What’s the worth of wind turbines? – MP
Bridgewater MP Ian Liddell-Grainger has called for a parliamentary investigation into wind turbines.
Mr Liddell-Grainger, who is on the all-party environment audit committee, made the appeal to its chairman Tim Yeo, after the Government turned down plans for the biggest wind turbine site in Britain off the west coast of Scotland.
He said: “I want there to be a formal look because nobody has proved to me that wind turbines make any sizeable difference.
“I am also concerned about the risk from blade-sheer. I’m told it has happened – not often, but once might turn out to be one time too many.”
