Wind farm inquiry set

Plans to build a 13-turbine wind farm between West Wratting and Balsham will be looked at by a planning inspector in July.

South Cambridgeshire Council (SCDC) rejected proposals back in June 2007 but Renewable Energy Systems (RES) announced its intention to appeal at the start of this year.

Stop Wadlow Wind Farm Action Group (SWWF) is well on its way to raising £45,000 it needs to help put its case forward at the public inquiry after taking the decision to appoint professional landscape consultants and an experienced barrister.

The inquiry will take place at West Wickham Village Hall from Tuesday, July 22, and is likely to run into the following week.

RES is proposing to build a 13-turbine wind farm at Wadlow Farm, between West Wratting and Balsham, with each one standing nearly 400ft tall.
