Plans to put up six wind turbines at Goonhilly are being supported by Kerrier council’s planning officers.
The application, due before this month’s planning committee on Tuesday, is by Cornwall Light and Power Co. Ltd.It will mean the redeveloping of the existing wind farm within The Lizard area of outstanding natural beauty.
There are currently 14 turbines on site. They would all be removed and replaced by the proposed six. The planned turbines will be double the height and, “will in turn at least double the green energy that is produced”.
