No wind farm proof

Contrary to claims from Professor Jan Bebbington and other windfarm interests, there is no evidence that wind farm-generated electricity displaces fossil fuel power station generation and reduces CO2 emissions. As the professor says, “We believe that wind power … has a vital role to play in decarbonising our energy system.” A belief, even a repeated one, is not proof. Power stations cannot respond to continuously variable wind farm output.
