'One-woman protest' against wind turbines

Fond du Lac County and its elected officials have allowed their citizens’ health and safety to be endangered.

Allowing an industrial wind factory with turbine placement closer to family residences than the 1.2-mile minimum safety distance required by the World Health Organization compromises the health of citizens. Because of this negligence and the irresponsible placement of turbines, many of my friends and neighbors are experiencing the beginnings of wind turbine syndrome or vibro-acoustic disease.

Since I can’t change the turbine placement, the only impact I can make on this health problem is to use my dollars wisely. Therefore, I will no longer be doing business with retail establishments, shops or restaurants in Fond du Lac and will urge my friends, relatives and neighbors to do the same.

For more than 25 years, I didn’t eat tuna in protest over dolphins being killed in tuna nets. It may be another 25 years before I experience retail commerce in your fair city. Hopefully, other health-conscious citizens, as well as my friends affected by wind turbine syndrome, will join my one-woman protest.
