MONTICELLO – County lawmakers yesterday tabled a contract to build a power-generating wind turbine at Sullivan County Community College, citing the college’s unwillingness to provide documents to the public and to lawmakers.
Public officials and taxpayers have often criticized the college for allegedly skirting public information laws. Lawmakers said some diagrams for the project were presented to them for the first time yesterday, the same day they were scheduled to vote.
The contract was put off until May 1, at 11:45 a.m., when lawmakers hope to have more information on which to base a decision.
