Energy answer is not in the wind

It is interesting to note that, according to Minister for Communications Energy and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan, “it is technically feasible to supply up to 42pc of our power requirements from renewable energy sources”.

In fact it is also technically feasible to harness donkeys to generators in order to generate electricity, and indeed that might be a better option than depending on wind energy which is unreliable, unpredictable, and inevitably, uncontrollable.

Wind energy is also uneconomical, which is why the minister introduced a new tariff system for offshore wind farms in February guaranteeing a price of €140 per megawatt hour for wind generated power. Ultimately, this must be paid for by the consumer.

You see, just because wind energy is technically feasible does not mean it is economically feasible.

The more I think about donkey generated electricity, the more I prefer it.
