Capital Wind Farm seek permission for extra turbines

The developers of the Capital Wind Farm near Tarago in southern NSW are seeking permission to add four new turbines to the project.

Renewable Power Ventures have submitted an application to the New South Wales government for approval to add the turbines.

The closing date for submissions on the proposal is April 11.

The company began construction in February on the $220 million wind farm, which was originally approved by the minister for planning on November 7, 2006.

That approval was for 63 turbines on the Great Dividing range 40 kilometres north-east of Canberra and 10 kilometres south-west of Tarago.
