An anti-windfarm campaigner has appealed to a landowner to change her mind before a planning application is made for seven turbines in his village.
Michael Windridge has pleaded with Elizabeth Allen to follow the wishes of most villagers in Hempnall who, he says, are against the 130m turbines proposed by Diss-based Enertrag.
Mr Windridge said in a letter to Mrs Allen, who is a Hempnall parish councillor: “As you must be aware, Enertrag’s unwelcome plans have created division, heartache, uncertainty and much anguish throughout the village of Hempnall.”
The letter was handed to her at the parish council’s annual meeting last Wednesday.
Mr Windridge, who is the South Norfolk councillor for the village, added the development would ruin the landscape and was inappropriate in such a rural location.
Mrs Allen would not comment and Terry Chapelhow, the Enertrag engineer for the project, said as the site was under contract, Mr Windridge should have sent his letter to the company.
