Iberdrola Renovables applies to develop 6 wind projects off Spain's coast

Iberdrola Renovables SA said it has applied for authorization from the Spanish government to develop six wind power projects along the Spanish coast, each with an installed capacity of 50 megawatts.

In a statement, Iberdrola Renovables said the wind farms will be located off the coast of the Spanish regions of Cadiz, Castellon and Huelva.

If cleared, the installations will be running by 2011-2015, and so are not included in the group’s strategic plan for 2008-10, Renovables said.

The capacity from the projects is in addition to the group’s current installed capacity potential of 42,000 MW, it said.
