Tree planting doubtful

In response to the person who suggested planting trees along Interstate 35 north and south of the Diamond Joe Casino because of the wind problems.

I doubt that that will ever happen. You see, you’re in turbine alley (wind turbine, that is).

The power companies have contracted the removal of trees in this area for more than five years. … Why would these people now come back and plant trees where they have been removing them for more than five years? The DNR would have to give them the OK to do this.

They took down three nice apple trees along one fence line that we used to drive by. They have moved on now to another wind farm site.

You are right – the wind blows through this area constantly, but what do you expect when they removed so many trees from the Minnesota border to south of Manly?

If you know where the next wind farm is being built, you will most likely see … trucks removing or spraying trees for the vision of a wind farm. That’s progress or a vision, so let’s apply for a subsidy and correct this problem.
