Residents living near land earmarked for a controversial new windfarm are invited to join a focus group being set up to examine the plans.
Sheffield Council has announced a feasibility study to look at putting half a dozen turbines on Westwood Country Park, near High Green.
The project would be the first of its kind in the city but has already stirred up opposition from some locals, who think it could be noisy, visually intrusive and see their house prices fall.
Council chiefs are currently consulting with people in the area and the focus group will consider the public concerns. It follows a public meeting held last week at Lound Junior School, Chapeltown.
Coun Alan Hooper, chairman of Sheffield Council’s North Area Panel, said: “There is no firm proposal. The present idea, a site feasibility study by a developer, is not a planning application. A planning application will need to be submitted.
“The North Area Panel will continue to ensure that the ongoing consultation and communications process is open, transparent and engages all.
